Christmas 2011

Hunsaker Christmas Party
We played some Minute to Win It games that Ashley organized and they were a lot of fun! I love Griffs face when he finished unrolling the crepe paper. Winner!

The Anderson party is always fun. Delish food, pictionary and presents. Blake got a Shark Pillow Pet from the Grandparents and a magic set from the Freeze's. Griff got a Broncos Pillow Pet from the Grandparents and Over the Hedge and candy from the Freeze's. I had no idea he liked that movie so much. Ben got sunglasses and I got a ponytail headband thingy and some really cute fingerless gloves. Griffen looks ginormous in that chair.

For the first no school day of Christmas break I made Rudolph pancakes. Everyone thought I was so amazing. I really don't know why they just realized it. Blake made a little mouse ornament. He also had a little program with his class where they read stories and sang songs. For their ornaments this year Blake really wanted a Pokemon one but I couldn't find one, so I glued some ribbon to the back of one of his Picachu toys and voila, a Pokemon ornament. (Again with the amazingness!) Griff got an ESPN one.

Christmas Eve! Decorating cookies for Santa. They get PJs to open every year and a game. Griff got a game kinda like Simon Says and Blake got Perfection. Then it's outside to sprinkle glitter in the driveway so Santa can see the reflection and know they have gone to bed.

Blake wanted an Angry Birds kicktail longboard and Griff wanted a shotgun. So guess what? That's what they got. They must have been good. Although there was that tiny incident of a rock being thrown at the patio door and smashing it to pieces. They are getting so big! Christmas is always a special time of year. :)

November 2011

I made this little 'Thankful Tree' and had it in the middle of the table. I had jewel leaf stickers, sharpies, and tags sitting next to it. Every day we each had to write something we were thankful for on a tag and hang it on the tree. The kids' friends had to do it too when they came over. It was fun and turned out really cute. Ben got me a flower covered chocolate cake filled with butter cream frosting. Does he know me or what? And look at those kitties. Can you stand it?

We Tried

Ben wanted to take us to a Broncos game. We picked the November 17 (2011)  game because they were playing the Jets and I may have a crush on Mark Sanchez. We were all so excited to go. We drove over, got settled in our room, and started off to the game. We had to walk a couple of miles to the stadium. As we were walking, the boys were messing around on hills, jumping over and off stuff, normal boy activities. We came to a good picture spot. I took the picture. Back to waking and messing around. They were walking on a retaining wall that started to get higher as the sidewalk slanted downwards. Ben said, "You better get down, you're getting too high." Blake jumps. No problem. Griff jumps, falls, and starts swearing like a sideline basketball coach. Ben and I look at him like, "What the crap is your problem?" As soon as I saw the terrified look on his face, I knew there was something seriously wrong.

I helped him get his balance, and he just stood there. I told him come on, lets go and he says he can't. I say, "Too bad. Come on. We are going to this game!" He tries. He can't. I sit him down, pull up his pant leg, look at his ankle and it is swelling out the top of his shoe. No way he can walk. We are too far from our hotel. We can't carry him. Ben and I just look at each other like, WTF? Ben goes to find help. He comes back with paramedics on bikes. I refused an ambulance ride to the hospital, so the cops came and gave Griff and I a ride back to our hotel. Ben and Blake were already headed back to get the car.

Ben and Blake went to the game, Griff and I went to the hospital. He felt so bad that I couldn't go to the game because he hurt himself. It was the WORST night ever. There were lots of tears from both of us. We were at the hospital for over 5 hours. We saw the game from a little TV that was in his room. He broke his foot in 3 places and tore all kinds of ligaments in his ankle.

The next morning Ben and Blake went and toured the mint. They said it was awesome. We were planning on staying for 4 days but since Griffen couldn't walk, we decided to just go home. We stopped at Little America in Wyoming for dinner and anything Griff would say, Blake would answer, "Whatever you say, Vacation Ruiner", with a little evil smile on his face. We drove home in a horrible snow storm.

This is the opposite foot from the foot that was broken in PE. He had had his cast off for 10 days. He said, "Well, at least I can wear my other shoe out evenly now." Way to look on the bright side!

He's My Special Boy!

November 2011
Because having a broken foot wasn't getting him enough attention. He "accidentaly" staped a his finger. With just a regular paper stapler. In Health. That's his story and he is sticking to it.

Anything for a Buck

Not sure of the date on this. Griff dared Blake to go out and get Yoda naked. For one dollar. I've never seen him move so fast. Ever.

2011 October :)

October is one of my favorite months. We have so many fun traditions. This year Blake carved a little monster pumpkin and Griff made Optimus Prime. Our annual trip to Gardner Village was a success, as always. We went to Sandra's to eat and then we were on our way. We went on a Saturday for the first time, and it was more fun for some reason. I think we should always go on a Saturday. Amb and I got our faces painted. I love getting my face painted. The girls couldn't have been any cuter.

Cookie Time!
I only make sugar cookies 3 times a year and this is one of them.

Ben and I went to a Halloween party. This year I was a flapper girl and he was a mobster guy.

Blake and Griffen like the show Adventure Time. So, that's what they were. Julia made Griffen's backpack, the sword and hat were ordered online. Blake and I made his costume. He is a little computer guy from the show. Brittni and her kids come over for pictures every year. Caleb wanted to "PUSH ALL BLAKE'S BUTTONS" so freakin bad. He didn't get it why nothing happened. We stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Hunsakers. Griff is taller than both of them! There is always some creeper sitting on my parents porch every Halloween. We pulled up this year and there it was again. Griff was pretty nervous and Blake wanted to go through the garage. HaHa!

Blake and I went on a hike to Waterfall Canyon with Jerri, Kyler and McKayla. It was really pretty.
Hopefully next time Ben and Griffen can come with us.

2011 October Anderson Picnic

I forgot my camera this day so I had to steal these pictures off Facebook. Griffen with a broken foot and a broken cast. His knee is also having problems. Caleb and Blake, so cute. Each boy with a baby. Poor Rylee looks pretty scared. Caleb took the amazing picture of me, Britt and Taylor, or it could be Taylor's sister. And Griff and Jordon.

NINJA

During the summer Blake took a Ninja class.  He learned a bunch of ninja moves and how to be stealthy.  They each got a Shirkin to practice throwing at one of the dummies at the dojo.  He loved every minute of it.  On the last day of class they got to slice full water bottles in half with Samuri swords.

Bear Lake September 2011

We had a little Hunsaker reunion at Bear Lake. My mom and dad got adjoining condos and let we all stayed there together.
(except Ben, Dylan, and the Duffeys couldn't make it) :(
We played tennis, games, and watched RIO about 50 times. Blake and Griffen brought their skateboards and Blake had a pretty good crash. He messed up his face and ran over his finger. I have no idea how this is possible on a skateboard, but he managed it. Terry took the kids tubing. Buck Naked rented a jet ski.  Blake took him on a wild ride.  He is a maniac on those things.  Maybe Blake thinks that since you're in the water, it won't hurt if you wreck. BN claims his ribs were broken from the fall.  It would probably be a good idea to tell Blake that the driver is responsible for the passengers safety.  Then maybe he wouldn't be so nuts.  (note to self)  We went to Who Shot Juanito Bandito at the Pickleville Playhouse. It was really funny. We stayed there for a few days and had a wonderful time.

2011 First Day of School

The First Day of School
I love summer so much, I almost hate this day. Schedules, routines, homework, reading, teacher notes. Blech. But don't they look fabulous? Griffen is starting 8th grade at the Middle Shcool and Blake is starting 4th grade at Discovery.
His teacher is Mrs. Hardman.

2011 Sibling Night

2011 End of Summer Campout

The weekend before school starts, we have an end of summer campout with my bestie and her kids. We have done it forever. We always have tons of food that the kids never eat and a mad supply of glow sticks. The morning after is always McDonalds breakfast.

Park City 2011

Even though Griffen couldn't play he still wanted to go support his team at the Park City Cup. Blake brought Zeke with him so he would have someone to hang out with. We stayed for 2 nights. It was a fun little get away.

2011 Soccer

Griff did really well in soccer this year. He wasn't able to play in the summer tournaments becasue he hurt his knee. He was pretty bummed out. He got better, then broke his foot in PE! I swear that kid breaks more bones than anyone I know. He was out for almost all of fall. :(

A Few Things From Summer 2011

Blake was really into baths this summer. It was kinda like his own indoor mini pool. Who wouldn't enjoy a bath with Pokemon toys and strawberries? We went over to Logan to feed the ducks with Caleb. The HP7 Premiere! Britt and I looking marvelous (as usual), Blake was a Dementor, Griff has a wand and a scar drawn on his forehead, aka Harry Potter. We saw Jed Westmorland and his wife there too! Jed was Hagrid and Whitney was a Hogwarts student (I think) The movie was great! I had a few questions and Griff knew all the answers. I never knew he was such a HP geek! :)
Our cat had about a million kittens. Here are a couple of them. So cute!
