I told the boys that if they had good reports at their parent/teacher conferences I would take them to PF Changs for dinner. We didn't really want to drive that far today, so we said we could try Takara instead if that would be ok with them, and it was. So we were off to let the kids try Sushi.

When we got there and sat down, Blake looked up at the bar (they make the rolls back there) and he goes, "Hey! Are those guys Mexicans?" and Ben goes, "No, they're Japanese." So Blake says, "I know! I've seen him before! He is in 'Wendy Wu, Homecoming Warrior"! I'm going to go get his autograph!"

They liked the edemame and the egg rolls the best. They also got teryaki chicken and beef. They were pretty good with the chop sticks though. They had the little helper things, so did Ben. But since they weren't huge fans, I told them we could still go to PF Changs. So if anyone else wants to join us let me know. We might as well fill a car up if we're going to go down there!

Dinosaur Park

On Wednesday, me and the boys, along with Brittni, Caleb, my mom, and Grandma Babe went to the Dinosaur Park. I haven't been there in 8 years or so and it has changed a lot. The boys loved it. Caleb, not so much, until we got outside. There was a stuffed buffalo thing that Blake would NOT get by because he thought it was real. There is a place upstairs that has BIG pupped dinosaur things and Blake thought they were real too. It could have been because some old man told him they were, so thanks, old guy! He took me up there and as we got to the doorway to go in and see them he pushed me (freakin hard) and said, "YOU GO!" It was so funny.
Outside Griff and Blake dug for dino bones. Griffen wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. But I can't convince him that he won't get to keep what he finds, so maybe when he comes to that realization, he will switch career paths. They had the outside decorated for Halloween. And they had headstones for me, my mom, Brittni, and Blake. Weird??

Party Animal
Griffen had a sleepover at a friends house last week and they stayed up ALL NIGHT. That morning he went to his cousins football game and just collapsed to the ground and slept under some chairs for the whole game. Then he had to go play a soccer game. (which he scored 2 goals in:)) After that they had a party to go to at the bowling alley. He was so tired. I've never seen him look like that. He has always wanted to stay up all night, but I don't think he'll do it again. At least not for a while.

Tonight at dinner Griff said, "Blake look at that huge spider behind you!" Blake slowly picked up every piece of steak he had and turned around only when all pieces were gripped in his chubby little hands. I was all, "What are you doing?" and he said, "Griff was just going to take my steak." Griff exclaimed, "Dang, you're getting smart!"

It is that time of year again when whenever the boys say they want something I say, "Maybe you should put it on your Christmas list." Blake informed me that he wants a cell phone. Not just any cell phone, but a black, boy one. Girffen wants a MILLION dollars in ones. I told them that I didn't think 6 year olds got phones, and that I was pretty sure Santa didn't give money, but for them to go ahead and ask anyway. But to just remember that "you don't get everything you ask for". To which Blake responded, "Well that will be the only time that ever happened."

This morning as Griffen was getting ready for school, still in a sleepy fog he said, "I wish we didn't have to learn. I just wish we could be free." It cracked me up.
Blake sold his Thomas stuff to Marchelle today. I told him he had a check for $20 and he said, "But I only wanted to take cash."
And Ben is a spoiled brat who wears his mamma's bra.

We took the kids to Peach Days this weekend. They really enjoy it. The rides, the food and all the stuff to buy. They each got $20 to spend how they wanted, so they climbed the rock wall, got drinks at the car show, Blake bought a couple "diamonds" and a sword, and Griff got a "diamond", a sword, and a light-up mouth guard. They went on the Ferris Wheel for the first time, and it scared them a little. Griff went on the Ring of Fire for the first time, and he screamed the whole time.
Blake and I were walking around the kid rides and he said:
"You are such a good mom. You're the best."
me: "Oh, Blake. Thanks!"
Blake: "I'm serious. It's true. You're the best mom I ever had."
How cute is he?

On Saturday me and Griff went down to the big SLC and returned some shirts at Nordstrom and went to eat at the Blue Iguana. We drove around the block the Blue Iguana was on about 3 times before we saw it. It is right below Benihana. The food was so good. Griff sounded like how the Cookie Monster sounds when he is eating a cookie. I finally was like, "Griff! Stop!" and he said, "I can't help it, its sooooooo good!" We were so stuffed when we left, and we brought 1/2 of our food home! Later that night we all laid on the driveway and watched the lightning storm until it started to rain.
Griff had a friend over the other day and they were talking and the conversation went like this:
Griff: So, are you gonna go to college?
Tristin: I don't know. Are you?
Griff: No, I'm going to buy an ice cream truck.
Let's hope he has really busy summers.
Today it stormed. We all went to Treetown and took some stuff back to my mom and grandma. By the time we left my mom's we were bringing more back home with us than what we took to her. At Babe and Carlos' we had some cake and ice cream. She freakin cracks me up. She comes and sits by me and says, "Now, I'm going to tell you a story, and you tell me if it would just piss you off." I was like, "mmmmmmkay?" Too funny.

My mom called Blake and Griff to see how the first day of school went. While she was talking to Blake, he said, "Just a sec, let me put you on speaker phone." So he puts her on speaker phone and she's like, what the heck?? "Blake! Blake! Why did you put me on speaker?" Blake says, "I'm trying to play a game here!!"
Blake also thinks it's awesome that you don't need lunch money. You just walk in and get some food. Little does he know, I pay the lunch money.
I thought they looked good again this morning, so I took some pictures. They wanted Yoda to be in them too, but he wasn't feeling too photogenic.Enjoy!
