Be MIne

Valentine's Day is so much fun. It just takes a little something to make your lovies day. The night before I set everyones gift in their room so they wake up to it. I get everyone a box of Idle Isle nut balls. They love them! I also write them a little note. I made Ben a deck of cards that each card had one thing I love about him. That's 52 things! He loved it. I also made Pokeball cupcakes. Blake thought they were the coolest ever. Ben gave me roses. They are so pretty.

We went rabbit hunting. Griffen's foot is finally feeling better and he wanted to shoot his new gun, so West we went. While we were walking, we noticed some things being dropped out of an airplane. They were landing about a mile away. Ben, Griff and Blake went to see what it was and I stayed on a log taking scenic pictures. Quite frankly, Scarlet, I didn't really care what it was. Turns out it was ATK stuff. Shocking, I know.

We get our haircuts in Tremonton and since our Taco Time is out of service, we go there for dinner after we get looking fabulous. They have a big gumball machine there with a sign on it saying if you get a green gumball, you get a free churro or something.
I gave them each a quarter and since Griff is a gimp, Blake beat him and got a green one. Talk about excitement.
After 3 more tires, Griff got a green one. How lucky!

Christmas 2011

Hunsaker Christmas Party
We played some Minute to Win It games that Ashley organized and they were a lot of fun! I love Griffs face when he finished unrolling the crepe paper. Winner!

The Anderson party is always fun. Delish food, pictionary and presents. Blake got a Shark Pillow Pet from the Grandparents and a magic set from the Freeze's. Griff got a Broncos Pillow Pet from the Grandparents and Over the Hedge and candy from the Freeze's. I had no idea he liked that movie so much. Ben got sunglasses and I got a ponytail headband thingy and some really cute fingerless gloves. Griffen looks ginormous in that chair.

For the first no school day of Christmas break I made Rudolph pancakes. Everyone thought I was so amazing. I really don't know why they just realized it. Blake made a little mouse ornament. He also had a little program with his class where they read stories and sang songs. For their ornaments this year Blake really wanted a Pokemon one but I couldn't find one, so I glued some ribbon to the back of one of his Picachu toys and voila, a Pokemon ornament. (Again with the amazingness!) Griff got an ESPN one.

Christmas Eve! Decorating cookies for Santa. They get PJs to open every year and a game. Griff got a game kinda like Simon Says and Blake got Perfection. Then it's outside to sprinkle glitter in the driveway so Santa can see the reflection and know they have gone to bed.

Blake wanted an Angry Birds kicktail longboard and Griff wanted a shotgun. So guess what? That's what they got. They must have been good. Although there was that tiny incident of a rock being thrown at the patio door and smashing it to pieces. They are getting so big! Christmas is always a special time of year. :)

November 2011

I made this little 'Thankful Tree' and had it in the middle of the table. I had jewel leaf stickers, sharpies, and tags sitting next to it. Every day we each had to write something we were thankful for on a tag and hang it on the tree. The kids' friends had to do it too when they came over. It was fun and turned out really cute. Ben got me a flower covered chocolate cake filled with butter cream frosting. Does he know me or what? And look at those kitties. Can you stand it?
We Tried
Ben wanted to take us to a Broncos game. We picked the November 17 (2011) game because they were playing the Jets and I may have a crush on Mark Sanchez. We were all so excited to go. We drove over, got settled in our room, and started off to the game. We had to walk a couple of miles to the stadium. As we were walking, the boys were messing around on hills, jumping over and off stuff, normal boy activities. We came to a good picture spot. I took the picture. Back to waking and messing around. They were walking on a retaining wall that started to get higher as the sidewalk slanted downwards. Ben said, "You better get down, you're getting too high." Blake jumps. No problem. Griff jumps, falls, and starts swearing like a sideline basketball coach. Ben and I look at him like, "What the crap is your problem?" As soon as I saw the terrified look on his face, I knew there was something seriously wrong.
I helped him get his balance, and he just stood there. I told him come on, lets go and he says he can't. I say, "Too bad. Come on. We are going to this game!" He tries. He can't. I sit him down, pull up his pant leg, look at his ankle and it is swelling out the top of his shoe. No way he can walk. We are too far from our hotel. We can't carry him. Ben and I just look at each other like, WTF? Ben goes to find help. He comes back with paramedics on bikes. I refused an ambulance ride to the hospital, so the cops came and gave Griff and I a ride back to our hotel. Ben and Blake were already headed back to get the car.
Ben and Blake went to the game, Griff and I went to the hospital. He felt so bad that I couldn't go to the game because he hurt himself. It was the WORST night ever. There were lots of tears from both of us. We were at the hospital for over 5 hours. We saw the game from a little TV that was in his room. He broke his foot in 3 places and tore all kinds of ligaments in his ankle.
The next morning Ben and Blake went and toured the mint. They said it was awesome. We were planning on staying for 4 days but since Griffen couldn't walk, we decided to just go home. We stopped at Little America in Wyoming for dinner and anything Griff would say, Blake would answer, "Whatever you say, Vacation Ruiner", with a little evil smile on his face. We drove home in a horrible snow storm.
This is the opposite foot from the foot that was broken in PE. He had had his cast off for 10 days. He said, "Well, at least I can wear my other shoe out evenly now." Way to look on the bright side!
