When we got back from vacay, our garden had mass produced everything! Holy freakin carrots! We have frozen carrots and zucchini. We have had lots of beans. We have made 8 quarts of spaghetti sauce that is the bomb! We also have 6 quarts and 30 pints of salsa. Hopefully, that will keep Griffen out of everyones salsa for a while.

Griff had surgery on his ankle at the University on August 28. The first day of school. I hope this is the last stop for this foot. If not, we will just cut it off. Ha! JK He didn't have any pain at all and said it felt pretty good, so fingers crossed! Griff missed 3 days for the surgery and will miss a couple more for follow up appointments. Normally, I wouldn't care. But then this happened.

The HAPPIEST Place On Earth
"Here You Leave Today And Enter The World Of Yesterday, Tomorrow, And Fantasy"
Yay! Disneyland! We have such a blast whenever we come here. I think it gets funner every time. Is funner a word? Top left is in front of It's a Small World. Longest ride ever! The ones with me and each cute boy are at Pirates of the Caribbean and the one of all three of us is on Peter Pan. Arguably the best ride in the park! At least in Fantasy Land, for sure.
From top left, It's a Small World, Storybook Ride, Mr Toads Wild Ride, Haunted Mansion (the ghost sat right on Blake's lap on the way out!), Pirates, Indiana Jones, with their sugar cookies, Mickey and Lightning McQueen, Star Tours, and Astro Blasters. Griff won us at this one too!
Pinnochio's Adventure, when I was taking the picture, Blake wanted it to look like he had his arm around Pinnochio. Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoe Ride, Jungle Cruise and waiting in line at Nemo. While we wait in line we play the hand slapping game and people watch. And talk about how much fun the last ride was and how this ride will be even better!
Blake driving on Mr. Toads Wild Ride. That is his favorite ride. He has loved it since he was little. He got the front seat on Splash Mountain. I felt kinda mean, he was so scared, but it was good for him. He survived! He liked the ducks in the river on the canoe ride. The last picture is in Tarzan's Treehouse.
Griff after Splash Mountain, watching the parade, and getting geared up for Space Mountain. He loves coming here. When we got the pictures back he said it hurt his sunburn to smile, but he couldn't help it.
Blake brought home a Nemo. That was his favorite movie when he was around 2. He is so cute on the Nemo ride. He totally zones out and soaks in every second.
Griff brought home Pascal from Rapunzel. His current Disney fave. He loved Star Tours and Space Mountain. The lines were pretty short and the temperature was perfect. Best Day Ever!
I dropped my camera at California Adventure and it broke. The lens wouldn't come out. We had to buy disposable cameras. Blake didn't get where the pictures were or why we couldn't waste them, or why he couldn't see them after they were taken. He is a digital baby. He thought it was the coolest to take pictures with those cameras. He even thought they were getting heavier because of all the pictures we were taking.
I am so glad we can go on vacations like this!
California Adventure
Cars Land! It was awesome! It looked just like Radiator Springs in the movie. We had to wait over an hour to go on one ride there, but it was totally worth it. Radiator Springs Racers. And look at my freakin face in that picutre. Seriously? WTF? I look like the biggest freakin Moon Face Fatty in every picture that gets taken when I'm on a ride. Nobody else looks like that. Seriously? WTF? The rides in Cars land were fun. Long lines, but way fun. We went on Ariels Undersea Adventure for the first time, and it was so freakin cute! They had it last year, but the line was way too long. We saw "It's a Bugs Life", went on the swings to cool off, and had corn dogs for lunch. We went to World of Color at night and it is amazing! It seriously almost makes me cry. Who am I kidding? It does make me cry! I love it!
From the top left, Toy Story Mania, Hollywood Tower Hotel, (again, my freakin face), in front of the bear rock waterfall, me and the boys at Goofy's Flight School. Griffen kicked everyone's butt at Toy Story Mania. He had such a bad sunburn, he needed a hat, and that's the one he picked. He says he likes Disneyland more, becuase it's more about Disney. Makes sense to me!
Beach Bums
I want to live by the beach. And not work. Or have any other silly responsibilities. Everyone loves it. Boogie boarding, digging in the sand, floating on the Magic Waves. We saw dolphins and seals. The seal was so cute! Nothing beats a day at the beach.
Griff loves it. From the minute we get there to the minute we leave, he hardly gets out of the ocean. Not even to eat. And that's saying something. We got some hand flipper glove thingys and he was a body surfing champ. We saw some grandma ladies coming out on little blow up floaties and Griff thought they were going to get owned for sure by the waves, but they rode those babies all the way in like pros! We named them the Boogie Boarding Grannies. They were there almost every day.
The picture on the top left is Blake trying to catch a bird. He likes digging and making things in the sand. This year he played in the ocean quite a bit. He got hit in the face once with a boogie board and got a little bloody nose. I didn't think it was possible to get out of the ocean so fast. He thought he was shark bait for sure. Whenever it got to be dusk, he made sure we were all hurrying to get out, because "it's feeding time!" Probably not the best idea to watch Shark Week the week before vacation!

Summa, Summa, Summa-time
We went and rafted the Weber River with Joe, Gina and their boys. Ben
and Blake were in one boat, and Griff and I were in another. Griff and I
had quite an adventure. We were supposed to go under a certain part of
a bridge and we were totally going to miss it so we bailed out of our
boat and it took forever, it seemed like, to pull the boat to the spot
where it was supposed to be. Finally, we got where we needed to be and
we were both kinda scared to let go of the bridge because the current
was so freakin strong where we were. Griff stuck his foot out of the
water and said, "Just grab my foot mom, let's go!" We got back in the
boat and not 5 minutes later we ran into a stick that totally popped
it! OMG I thought we were going to die! We floated down to a place
where we could get out and had to cross the highway. So there we were
running across the road, soaking wet, life jackets on, and carrying our
huge, flat boat. It was scary crossing that road! We were right by the
on-ramp by Devils Slide. We sat on a median barrier thingy and played
tic-tac-toe in the dirt, and I taught Griff the "Have You Ever Ever Ever
In Your Long Legged Life Seen A Long Legged Sailor With a Long Legged
Wife" game. We waited for at least an hour for them to float down to
the truck and come and get us.
Griffen got back from his 50 mile hike. He had fun. It actually ended up being 62 miles because someone hurt their ankle, so they had to go around an easier way. Blake tried carrying his backpack up the stairs. He barley made it.

Birthday Breakfast!
This year instead of shopping, we went back to Sandra's house and made some frames for Halloween. It was a fun day, as always! I am so glad we do it! : )
Almost every day Blake goes outside and cools off with a hose on the tramp. Griff is playing basketball.
We decided to try a garden again this year. So far we have had good luck. I made the adorable garden markers. We have corn, beans, pumpkins, carrots, tomatoes and zucchini. Brittni came over and was asking if I had any beans yet, and I said no. She didn't believe me, so I told her to go look for herself. She pulled back the bean leaves and guess what??? BEANS! I thought they grew on the top. The next morning Griff, Blake and Keaton picked them for me. We have had lots of beans, tomatoes and zucchinis so far. We even have a few pumpkins!
We went to Cowabunga Bay. It was OK. Its kind of a small water park. I think it's better for littler kids, but we still had fun.
That's Griff on the left and Blake on the right. Griff kept getting sucked over to Blake's side. They loved it.
Griffen has been helping mow the lawn at the Bothwell church. While he was mowing, Dylan tried to talk me into riding a Trail-90. He did. It was all started and I got on. My plan was to go around the patio, on the grass in the back, over to the side of the house, into the front, and onto the road. I didn't want to drive in the gravel. I got on and asked if it was going to go when I put it in first or if it would just lurch a little. He said, and I quote, "It will just jump a little." Ya freakin right. It shot forward like it was coming out of a cannon! I ran into the plastic storage thingy, it pushed into the patio table and chairs, and then everything started pushing the grill. It was so loud and everything was crashing together and sliding across the patio. I swear I was using the breaks, and that stupid thing would not stop! Finally, it died or something, and I just sat there for a second, assessing the damage. I looked back at Dylan, and his face was freakin hilarious! He thought I died. I start cracking up, so he starts cracking up and I don't think I have laughed that hard for a long time. Then, we heard someone jiggling the back door knob, then nothing. The door finally opens, but nobody comes out. Then my mom sticks like one eye around the corner. Holy crap. More laughing. She goes, "I thought I was going to come out to your mangled body all over the patio!" More laughing. My dad comes panting around the corner, "What the hell??" I was like, "You heard that?" He said all of Bothwell probably heard it. Apparently the breaks don't work that great and the throttle sticks. Funniest thing that's happened in a long time.

Casts, and Doctors and Shopping! Oh My!
Griffen got his cast off! Finally! He had it on for 7 weeks! On the
way to the Dr he took it off himself in the car. He stuck his arm out
the window and with a look of pure enjoyment said, "Now I know why dogs
like to do this so much!" The feeling of wind and summer on his arm was
the best thing ever!
Blake really loves his snake he got at the zoo. I guess pics like this make it worth the stupid $30 it cost. I picked him up from golf the other day and he gets in the car, clearly annoyed and said, "Flippin, it must be Grandparents Day here or something!" "Why?", I say. "Because this place is crawling with old people!"

I gave Ben tickets to Def Leppard and Poison, so I decided to rock some big hair. This picture really doesn't do it justice. Ben said he didn't know I could make my hair that big, and I was like, Please! I'm from Tremonton!
We babysat Eva! She is so stinkin cute. The boys even took a little break from XBOX to play with her.
We went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch after and it was delish.
We also did a little shopping at City Creek.
I took Griff to a follow up appointment at Primary Children's for his foot. It was stupid. I don't know if I had too high of expectations or what, but they weren't helpful at all on either visit. The Dr there referred him to a foot and ankle specialist at the University. He has an appointment there on the 8th. She said she was referring him because he was too big to qualify as a child. That iritaties me for several reasons, but the top two are, did she not notice his size the first time we went in April????? and regardless of his size, he is still a child!!!!!! BAAAAAHHHHH! #@!!%*$ I am losing it! I just wish someone would figure out the problem and fix it already! After his appointment we went down to Fashion Place to do a little school shopping and then went back downtown to eat at PF Changs. He was in heaven. He kept trying to talk me into ordering a ton of food because it was going to be the last good thing he ate until he goes on his hike. It didn't work, but it was a good try. He is all packed. His pack weighs 36 lbs. He leaves Monday for a week. : (

Nutty Buddy
This has been a pretty lazy summer so far! Griffen still has his cast on his arm. He has 2 PT appointments each week and an appointment with the chiropractor once or twice a week for his ankle. He has basketball M & W and soccer T & TH. He hasn't been going to soccer because of his foot, but will be back at it this week. Next week he is going on a 50 mile hike for Scouts. I hope he has fun. Blake has been alternating every other week M-TH swimming lessons or golf lessons. He loves to swim and his favorite part of golf is chipping. Griff and Blake have been getting along really well. They have to do jobs, read, and play outside for at least an hour before they can play X-Box. That is all they want to do! They can play from 1-5 and for an hour or so before they go to bed IF they get all their stuff done and IF they're good. So far, it works like a charm! I started Jazzerscise-ing and I freakin love it! Brittni started going too. I'm still doing stupid WW. Ben works 2 days on and 2 days off.
We had our 4th of July BBQ as always, and it was fun, as always. The kids were playing soccer and Blake took a pretty good shot to the nuts. We now call him Nutty Buddy. He hates it. The next day he was having trouble moving and was in a lot of pain. Friday it was really swollen, but the pain had gone away some so we didn't go to the Dr. Sunday came and he was still in pain, and swollen and the color was way off so I called the hospital and the Dr. on call said to bring him in. Really? Just what I need, more Dr. bills. I said I didn't want to bring him and if it could wait until the next day I would get him in with his Dr. but On-Call-Guy was all about getting him in in case there was a blood flow problem. Then he went on to say if the area was compromised it could effect his growth and bla bla bla. So, off to the hospital we went. I could just imagine if I hadn't taken him and there was a problem, so he was stuck at 4 & 1/2 feet tall for the rest of his life because I was to cheap for an ER visit.
He had to have an ultrasound and everything was fine. YIPPEE! It was 2:30 am so of course we went and got Happy Meals at MickyDs. After we ate, we decided to walk around the new temple. We were the only ones out (imagine that), it was quiet, and everything is so clean and new and pretty. We were about half way around and Blake says, "We really need to get some of that gel like the ultrasound lady had." Why, I asked. He stopped walking, spread his legs out a little, put his arms up and said, "Because, my balls feel.....
A-MAAAAAA-ZING!" I guess a 15 minute massage to the nuts will do that for ya!

All About Griffy Poo :)
Standing at 5 feet 11 1/2 inches tall, weighing 150 elbees, my baby is 14! It really kinda blows my mind. This was a lot easier to do for Blake's birthday, because all of his pics are digital. I also know we were gone for 2 of Griff's birthdays. Just thought I'd throw that in there so nobody thinks I'm playing favorites or anything.
Griffen's cakes usually represented what he was into that year. For the past couple of years he has wanted strawberry cream cheese cakes with the candles close together because he HATES it if he can't get them all out with one blow. He said it happened when he was 11 and I don't think he has quite gotten over it.
Some of the best birthday presents ever! A truck, bike, massages from Ashley, sports stuff, silly string from Britt, a head lamp, legos, and snuggling with me. I don't know if he loves snuggling me, but I do!
Since this post is about Griffy, I thought I would add this.
The first broken bone was the white cast when he was 4. He was jumping on a tramp. I only remember this because it was the first bone he had ever broke. I took a bunch of pictures, and everyone wanted to sign it. The rest is kind of a blur. The novelty has slightly wore off, and I just had to look through pictures and spot the ones where he has a cast. The second was the blue cast on his left hand. It happened at school. I don't remember what he was doing. Next was the broken toe at Oceanside. He was jumping over a rock, and didn't quite make it. It was so sick! His toe was sticking out sideways! Then was the purple cast on his right hand. No idea what happened. Then the broken right hand. Can't remember that one either.
Then the broken right foot. That was in PE. After that, the staple to the finger that went into the bone. Next, we have the infamous Denver fall. That counts as 3 since he broke 3 bones on that one. Hopefully the last, but not least, is the broken left arm. He managed to do that when he wrecked on a 4-wheeler at The Empire.
